offers a job in Italy (IT) as Calibration Engineer Gasoline Emission The role involves calibration of engine control units for emissions, engine after-treatment systems, and start and warm-up functions.
Responsibilities include planning, execution, and evaluation of calibration functions in powertrain test facilities (Test Bed, Chassis Rolls, powertrain testbeds, VTB, etc.)
and vehicle development.
The objective is to achieve stringent legislative exhaust emissions targets and quality standards according to AVL standards.
This position requires internal communication for planning and organization of calibration tasks and customer communication regarding project overviews, analysis, and results.
Responsibilities: Maintenance of engine, drivetrain components, and vehicle and testbed data in appropriate systems (ETS, TFMS, etc.).
Definition and execution of defined test plans in all required testing environments.
Robustness testing to validate production tolerances, fuel economy, and market-specific requirements.
Post-processing and analysis of measurement data utilizing tools such as AVL Concerto and Cameo.
Optimization of calibration parameters using tools such as INCA and CRETA.
Optimization and testing under all climatic conditions on environmental test trips (Ambient/Altitude).
Documentation of changed calibration parameters in CRETA (including progress and comments).
Documentation of all measurement results according to defined development processes.
Using defined methodology and tools for optimal efficiency and quality of each task.
Support the development of methodology and tools for calibration tasks.
Assist project managers and logistics in engine, drivetrain, vehicle, and test facility planning and handling.
Profile: FH/TU Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Thermodynamics, Chemical Process Engineering, Software Engineering (or equivalent).
HTL (or equivalent).
Detailed technical understanding of thermodynamics of combustion engines, transmission, and electric powertrains.
Understanding of powertrain systems and their interactions.
Understanding of electronic engineering, information technology, and control engineering.
Required software skills in calibration tools (INCA, Concerto, DiagRa).
Flexibility and readiness to travel.
Problem-solving competence.
Collaborative working style.
English proficiency (level B2).
Driving license.
