The team is also responsible for LYB CAE material database, in terms of material test execution and material card generation.• The position within the team of the "CAE Simulation Engineer" is responsible for executing and reporting computer simulation studies within customer projects and supporting internal methodology development programs about both mold filling and structural simulations.• The position is also collaborating with the creation and maintenance of material cards for computer simulations, both for mold filling and for structural simulations.• The position reports to "CAE Methods, Innovation and Testing" within the team, and acts in agreement with LYB Business Organization.General Responsibilities• Take over and ensure computer simulations needed within Customer applicative projects, in agreement with project leader and with Business directions, following team standard practices and communication procedures.• Provide collaboration to simulation methodology development, under the direction of the direct supervisor.• Provide support to CAE material data elaboration and generation of material input data ("material cards") for the CAE software in use, in agreement with internal methods, to be also given to customers.• Supports selection and evaluation of CAE SW tools, verifying performances and issues.• Supports applicative projects by elaborating CAD part geometries and building CAE F.E.
meshes for her/his own use or to support colleagues.Area of Expertise, Requirements• Knowledge of principles of Computer Simulation and data treatment for engineering and design purposes.
Experience in injection moulding simulation and in structural (static-crash-creep-vibration) can be an asset.• Knowledge of continuum mechanics applied to polymers, viscoelasticity and viscoplasticity can be an asset.• Knowledge of one or more Computer Simulation codes like Abaqus, Hypermesh, LS-Dyna, PamCrash, Moldflow, or others is preferred.• Experience in laboratory mechanical tests can be an asset.• Basic knowledge of fundamentals of data analysis and signal manipulation, as filtering, FFT, sampling, statistics can be an asset.• Knowledge and fluent usage of PC Operating system (MS-Windows) and MS-Office tools.• Programming tools: Visual Basic, Matlab, Python, Fortran, or others can be an asset.Min.
QualificationsEducation• Required: University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering, Polymer Engineering or equivalent.• Optional: Trainings in simulations codes like Moldflow, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Hyperworks or similar.Work Experience• No previous work experience is mandatory: the position will be a Junior position, aimed to learn and develop skills in the areas of CAE and material science.• 3 years' work in a CAD or CAE team or equivalent is an option.Preferred QualificationsOther skills• Team working ability, Collaboration skills, Analytical and Problem solving skills.• Ability to work by targets and comply with Company and Team objectives.• Willingness to learn and improve skills as a continuous development.We are LyondellBasell – a leader in the global chemical industry creating solutions for everyday sustainable living.
