As a member of a larger global acting company, you will be in charge of the purchasing of 2-4 purchasing group components for our location in Luzzara (IT). The scope includes several components of a material handling truck, from the easiest to the most complex ones. In this context, you will work within a European purchasing team with colleagues in several European locations, closely together with your responsible (the Head of Site Procurement located in Luzzara) and an interdisciplinary team of Logistics, Quality, R&D, Production, and Sales. Responsibilities:
Self-reliant and operational acting purchaser for assigned components, assemblies, and solutions. Proceed market analyses and request for quotations in line with technical specifications; lead negotiations with suppliers in terms of delivery, quality, and price; place purchase orders; set delivery dates according to sales requests. Constant tracking of the supplier deliveries and initiate actions in the case of deviations. Manage and develop the supply base (for the responsible parts) to achieve our targets in delivery, quality, cost, and innovation. Maintain and develop relationships with the strategic suppliers, including contractual management (NDA's, Long Term/Supply Contracts, etc.). Support the development and implementation of the Procurement Strategy and align the supplier portfolio together with the Central Commodity Organization. Support regional and global Procurement initiatives. Support the awarding process led by Global Sourcing (GS). Site awarding (in agreement with GS). Tender with Site suppliers. Technical meetings with suppliers. Partnering industrialization process with and at suppliers. Tooling order, industrialization process, and process series. Tooling contract and application. ETAP & PPAP. Meeting with awarded supplier. Processing and tracking technical changes for Purchasing aspects. Drive MCO, DTC, HKvoll activities at site (together with Cost Engineering). Drive Make-or-Buy process and resulting outsourcing and insourcing activities. Drive re-sourcing project. Management and mitigation of site-related supply risk. Act as interface between suppliers and Quality, Logistics, and R&D in case of questions/discussions. Manage crisis situations. Support and respond to unforeseen supply failures, working with supplier and site to deliver solutions to avoid line stops. Monitor and manage influences on performance and achievements on the Procurement's KPIs, in line with local requirements and rules. Tasks and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business and ideally experience as Buyer in Material Handling, Construction, Agriculture, Automotive Tier 1, or similarly demanding environment. Strategic thinking in day-to-day decision making. Very good understanding of manufacturing processes and industry quality standards. Able to read and understand technical drawings and specifications. Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications. Good SAP/R3 ERP knowledge is a requirement. Results driven, with the ability to drive projects self-reliantly and successfully. Team-oriented in a global purchasing team. Good problem solving, communication, and presentation skills are necessary. Flexibility to travel within Europe.
