Where you fit in The Business Finance Manager plays a vital part in delivering Safety, Compliance, Reliability, Costs, and the Delivery of Maritime Skills to the Shell Group, these are strategic objectives that must be delivered for Ship Management to remain competitive.

The Business Finance Manager leads the end-to-end responsibility for all Crewing and Manning Finance aspects: Financial and accounting procedures, including company, statutory as well as customer reporting requirements, Management Information, accounts payables/receivables, Shell International Shipping Services (Pte) Ltd(SISS, Singapore) & Shell Ship Management Ltd. (SSML, Isle of Man) payroll requirements, ShipMate (Operations System) finance setup:

Management of 3 direct reports with ability to deliver results through others. SSML statutory reporting requirements (in respect of finance and payroll) and SISS reporting requirements (in respect of payroll). Accounts payable and Accounts receivable, including shored based office staff and seafarer payroll transactions, cash flow management Develop and execute initiatives to streamline processes and enhance overall operational effectiveness and efficiency. Lead the comprehensive and coordinated end to end service delivery in line with SSMLs vision: "Right people, right place, right time, right cost". What's the role? The Business Finance Manager will also be accountable for the following:

Shell Ship Management Ltd. Leadership Team member, acting as Deputy for the General Manager in their absence. As the leader of the Finance team ensure the fleet portfolio is provided with a financially robust and compliant crewing service on a 365/24/7 basis Monitor and ensure compliance with legislation and regulations affecting the business, proactively anticipating and mitigating issues before they impact delivery compliance, cost, or quality. Ensure compliance with monthly and annual reporting requirements, including reporting timetables, providing justification and analysis on cost variances as required. Preparation of all annual budget/planning in accordance with group and local requirements To liaise with group, Fleet Managers and Local mangers in respect of monthly, quarterly, annually, and ad hoc reporting requirements Providing support and recommendations when applications restrict data analysis, finding short term solutions or providing recommendations for enhancements Maintenance of Master data records for AP, AR, cost control and budgetary control. Lead for treasury operations and group compliance To regularly & continually review procedures and working practises to ensure most efficient methods are in use within the department. Providing support and guidance to staff in respect of SAP, HR & payroll applications, policies and practises. Liaising, reporting to and working with external / internal auditors and third-party auditors. What we need from you We are keen to hear from candidates with strong accounting and analytical skills with relevant financial experience as well as desire to continuously improvement business process and outcomes. Besides this, we would also like to see the following:

Excellent Finance functional skills, supporting their business with forward thinking and ideas to support and embrace change. A recognised accountancy qualification or proven accounting experience, Proven ability to coach, lead and develop (natural) teams Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills with the ability to manage multiple international stakeholder relationship Proven, ideally certified, ability and drive to deliverBusiness / Continuous Improvement. Experience in AGILE methodologies helpful Ability to learn and develop deep understanding of external regulations governing the mobilising of seafarers including MLC, STCW and how Flag States incorporate these standards into regulation; Significant experience with stakeholder engagement and recognition of the sensitivities and complexities of relationship management If you don't see yourself fully reflected in every job requirement listed on the posting above, we still encourage you to reach out and apply.
