What you will do As an EMEA Business Development Manager (BDM) at Johnson Controls - Hitachi , you will be a key driver in the growth of our Residential and Light Industrial HVAC business within the EMEA region.
Your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities, all aimed at achieving revenue and margin targets while fostering strategic development and transformation.
How you will do it Business Target Achievement: As part of the HQ commercial management team, you will be accountable for achieving monthly business revenue and margin targets.
Your role involves collaborating with country teams to analyze market trends and identify growth opportunities.
Additionally, you will develop action plans to address revenue shortfalls or margin gaps, and you will regularly review sales pipelines, forecast accuracy, and performance metrics to ensure targets are met Salesforce Effectiveness: You will monitor and optimize front-line sales (FLS) effectiveness metrics to maximize revenue per FLS headcount.
To achieve this, you will prioritize sales efforts and provide coaching to sales managers Business Strategy Development: Working closely with the cross-functional leadership team, you will contribute to shaping the business strategy.
This includes coordinating sales target setting, creating a compelling storyline, and preparing country-specific presentations for annual and long-range plans.
Your role is pivotal in aligning the business strategy with overall company objectives Service Business Development: You will project manage the development of a profitable services business model.
Over multiple years, you will gradually build and refine service offerings, including maintenance contracts, after-sales support, and upgrades.
Your customer-centric approach will involve understanding customer pain points and collaborating with technical teams to ensure service quality Sales Transformation: During transition periods, you may temporarily manage a sales region.
As a change leader, you will guide the sales team through organizational shifts (e.g., mergers, acquisitions, restructuring) while maintaining morale and focus.
Ensuring process alignment across regions will be essential for continuity during organizational changes Business Integration: On a project basis, you will be responsible for seamless integration between different entities within the organization.
This involves cross-functional collaboration, redistributing roles and responsibilities, resolving conflicts, and ensuring data integration.
What we look for: Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business, or related field is required.
MBA or other relevant advanced degree can be advantageous Minimum 10 years experience in sales, business development, or a related field, with a significant portion of that time spent in a regional or global role Experience in the EMEA HVAC market with an understanding of customer needs and regulatory trends Strong business acumen with demonstrated success in achieving revenue and margin targets, and developing business strategies Experience in managing complex projects, particularly those involving cross-functional teams and business integration Excellent communication skills in English, with exeperince in presenting to senior leadership Driver's license valid within EU.
