Key Activities & Responsibilities: Mechanical and Plumbing Systems design for Civil and Industrial buildings related to the assigned project, based on the guidelines received by the Mechanical and Plumbing Specialist or Building Design Leader in agreement with other disciplines, optimization of the choices from a technical and economic point of view in accordance with the budget and scheduled time; discipline design development according to the main international standards (EN, NFPA, etc.)
and in compliance with Tecnimont standards and work instructions.
Mechanical and Plumbing equipment design and sizing by discipline application software, functional schematics, and technical specifications based on: Heat loss calculation of cooling loads and heat requirements, pressure drop, psychometric charts, etc.
Schematics and layouts for HVAC and mechanical equipment Heating and cooling load and equipment performance selection (pumps, fans, compressors, boilers, chillers), calculation and systems' documentation Plumbing including fire-fighting, water supply, and drainage systems piping layouts interface and coordination tasks based on all the related Equipment disciplines and Architectural requirements according to the design information.
Material Requisition (M.R.)
and Work Requisition (W.R.) preparation in proposal and detailed design phases according to main technical specification, contractual and economic requirements; technical support in bill of quantities preparation in proposal, detailed design, and construction phases; client design review follow-up, support in technical clarifications, comments, and following design modifications; Mechanical and Plumbing Specialist or Building Design Leader field engineering assistance for technical process approval, shop drawings and vendor's material follow-up, test, and commissioning activities.
Personal Attributes: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, specialized in HVAC and Plumbing systems; Fluent English speaker and writer; HVAC & Plumbing main International standards; Similar role covered in the last five years; Experience in Mechanical & Plumbing design processes, for example design philosophies for buildings: Control Rooms, Electrical Substations, Laboratories, Administration buildings, Process Buildings/Shelters (like Pump House, Compressor House); Field work experience and confidence working in and around Industrial Plant (petrochemical, oil & gas) equipment, systems, and conditions will be a plus; Experience of working with MEP Subcontractors; Knowledge of drafting tools (AutoCAD) and BIM Tools (REVIT, Navisworks) as well as of HVAC and Plumbing main design software (CARRIER HAP, REVIT integrated software's as MAGICAD); Energy modelling, analysis of non-residential buildings; Knowledge of green building rating systems (LEED or equivalent); Team-oriented, self-motivated with problem resolution, good interpersonal and communication skills; Availability to travel for short and long periods in Italy and abroad.
