With an expanding domestic and global market, and revenues increasing month on month, critical strategic change is on the agenda, in order for us to achieve the objective of dominating our sector as a truly successful force in online retail.
Role purpose:
We are seeking a strong Brand and Communication Director to take responsibility of the positioning, brand image, narrative and messaging of YOOX.COM on a global scale, with focus on the strategic markets which are key for YOOX.COM (Italy, US, Germany, UK, France, MENA, APAC Japan).
Reporting to the YOOX MD the Brand and Communication Director will be in charge of leading the creative, social and content teams to lead the brand and communication strategy in coordination with the Sales & Marketing and Merchandising and Marketplace teams, with a prevalent but not exclusive focus on digital channels (owned properties as well as social media).
The main objective of the role is defining a clear and sustainable brand identity, then articulating it effectively across channels and properties to elevate the positioning of the brand YOOX in the eyes of the customers and of other key stakeholders (influencers, press, brands, institutions).
Key Responsibilities:
Based in Milan and in charge of creative, PR, social media, content and events on a global scale the Brand and Communication Director will:
- Work with YOOX MD and external agencies to re inforce the brand positioning, define clear lines of communication, consistent with this positioning on a global scale, execute the Strat plan with a special focus on gen Z target and sustainability
- Coordinate and partner with the regional teams worldwide on all branding activities (e.g.
events, campaigns, etc.
), in order to guarantee a communication style consistent with the strategic plan and the target audience for YOOX.COM
- Devise the communication plan of YOOX.COM, proposing, planning and executing ideas/initiatives (e.g.
events, sponsorships, collaborations) that drive brand visibility and reputation across all channels and with the stakeholders (final clients, fashion community), with a specific focus on digital media;
- Manage the creative team to ideate and produce graphic assets and content to be used on-site (site graphics, banners, etc.)
and off-site (newsletters, video, etc.
);
- Coordinate the PR team to elaborate plans with focus on both digital and traditional media;
- Coordinate the Brand projects team with the operative execution of product/events/sponsorships projects and other initiatives;
- Coordinate the Brand Partnership team in the relationship with external partners, development of new prospects and projects in line with the target audience and the brand positioning
- Execute a strong editorial plan on social media channels, in coordination with the broader marketing plan;
- Align the product offering and appearance through a thoughtful coordination of the site merchandising team to align business and brand objectives
- Establish reporting mechanism to inform YOOX MD of all activities and coverage;
- Work in partnership with Sales & Marketing, Merchandising & Buying and Marketplace functions to guarantee a full activities coordination and meet the company goals;
- Plan and manage an annual budget and allocate resources by country, channel and activity;
- Coordinate external communication agencies;
- Monitor and report competitor activity and relevant industry trends, events and opportunities to appropriate teams;
- Align with Corporate Communications team to ensure consistency of messaging at Group level.
Experience and skills:
- Consolidated experience in brand direction, with proven track record of positioning and/or repositioning brands;
- Experience in luxury or adjacent categories (apparel, beauty, accessories);
- A natural born "narrator", with strong creative thinking and ideas generation;
- Global mindset and solid digital attitude and knowledge;
- Creative personality, yet business oriented;
- A strong and charismatic team leader, at the same time able to bridge gaps with other functions;
- High personal standing (orientated to internal and external relationships);
- Strong judgement and decision-making skills;
- Pragmatic approach;
- Proven experience of working in a fast-paced environment;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Well-connected in the creative space (art directors, photographers, etc.
).
Minimum qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years managerial creative experience within the luxury/apparel industry, focused on brand building and brand management in a digital world;
