The achievers and courageous challenge-crushers we seek, have the following characteristics and skills: BOGIE DESIGN TECHNICAL LEAD ENGINEER - ROLLING STOCK Sede di lavoro: Toscana Role overview: Definition of the functional logic project (technical specifications, descriptions, assembly drawings); Realization of the individual sub-components of competence (make and buy) providing the solutions for the implementation of the bogie functionality; Collaborate with the sub-project groups and ensure the development of the assigned project part; Concurrent engineering with the production engineering and liaison engineering department; Follow the manufacturing in the prototyping stages and in the validation tests of the components and the bogie Guide the team members with technical in executing the projects Communicate with customers with respect project scope understanding and technical queries; Evaluating supplier calculations test results; Estimating scheduling the work packages and preparing the proposal; Manage the projects/deliverables with respect to quality schedule; Review and advise on the suitability of systems solutions; Coach new practitioners in this field; Specialized Knowledge, Background Skills: Bachelor or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar related degree Minimum 8 years' experience on Rail/Locomotive/Train domain Excellent knowledge on operation principles of Bogie, Bogie Frame, Primary Secondary Suspension, Axle Box , Lifting Lug and various elements in Bogie system Knowledge on assembly methodology/mounting methods of various elements like dampers, torque bars etc Thorough understanding on end customer requirements and able to read the same from DOORS Knowledge on PLM documentation Good knowledge in Material specification / weld types, structural standards (proof and fatigue), interfaces, weights management, Tolerance Stack-Up and manufacturing Tolerances.
Good Knowledge on Piping and Electrical cabling Installation / Routing.
Good Knowledge on CAD Tools and PLM System Ability to select and size mechanical fixings (Fasteners) on the basis of structural requirements.
Good understanding of Bogie architecture and systems and their methods of installation Good awareness of the Bogie cost drivers and an ability to optimize solutions to achieve a cost effective system that meets the functionality and performance requirements Experience of Finite Element calculations including both linear and non-linear assessments Understanding of Structural Mechanics and the fundamentals of Fatigue assessment methods.
