Bioinformatician | Tumor and Microenvironment Unit The Tumor and Microenvironment Unit, led by Dr. Diletta Di Mitri at Humanitas Clinical and Research Center, Milan, is seeking talented researchers to join our dynamic research team. We are recruiting a postdoctoral fellow, a bioinformatician, and a laboratory technician to contribute to cutting-edge projects funded by the Associazione Italiana per la Ricerca sul Cancro (AIRC) and Fondo Italiano per la Scienza (FIS).
Our research focuses on dissecting the complex interactions between tumors and their surrounding microenvironment, particularly investigating the role of immune cells and the extracellular matrix in metastasis formation. A core aspect of our work is to explore the influence of innate immune cell subsets on tumor progression, metastasis, and therapeutic resistance, with the ultimate goal of developing innovative immunotherapeutic strategies to reprogram the tumor microenvironment and fight cancer.
The Humanitas Clinical and Research Center provides an outstanding setting, combining state-of-the-art laboratory facilities with a close integration of clinical and research activities, fostering a highly collaborative and productive environment.
Join us in advancing tumor immunology research and contribute to the development of innovative cancer therapies!
Key Tasks and Responsibilities: As a bioinformatician, you will play a key role in analyzing complex datasets to investigate immune-tumor interactions and aid in the development of novel immunotherapeutic approaches. You will work with single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), spatial transcriptomics, CRISPR-Cas9 libraries, and imaging mass spectrometry.
You're the perfect candidate if you have: Degree in Bioinformatics, Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in Python or R. Experience with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and single-cell RNA sequencing. Expertise in Imaging Mass Spectrometry is a plus. Independence, creativity, and a passion for biological data analysis. What we offer: In Humanitas, you will find a stimulating and dynamic research environment, a strong network of international collaborators, and interesting opportunities for your professional growth.
You'll be involved with autonomy and responsibility on prestigious projects accessing state-of-the-art infrastructure and core computing and experimental facilities in a vibrant, world-class research environment.
