Description: The Aviation Life Support System (ALSS) Technician performs duties as an ALSS for H-1 Series aircraft and personnel in the Czech Republic. ALSS personnel inspects, maintains, and repairs aircraft flight survival equipment, aircraft environmental control systems and personal flight equipment including OTO helmets and components. Responsibilities: Accounts for all Aircrew-related flight gear both prior to flight and after flight. Performs scheduled maintenance to include inspection, maintenance, and repair of escape systems, environmental systems, fire extinguishing systems, aircrew clothing, survival kits, personnel parachutes and associated hardware, life rafts and life preservers, anti-exposure suits, survival radios and other emergency signaling equipment, flight helmets, oxygen equipment. Briefs and certifies all visitors and maintainers on egress procedures prior to entering or performing maintenance on any aircraft. Performs shift "All Tools Accounted For" (ATAF) inventories and attends all hands Foreign Object or Debris (FOD) walk downs to maintain standards that comply with FOD and Tool Control procedures. Requests and receives aircraft materials from the supply system and ensures applicable technical directives have been complied with prior to installation/use on aircraft. Prepares, reviews, and updates aircraft maintenance forms and records. Uses common measuring tools, measuring gages, alignment fixtures, and special tools. Ensures that all related maintenance operations are conducted in a safe manner. Other tasks, duties, and responsibilities, as directed. Qualifications: Skills and Experience: Two years' recent experience as an Aviation Life Support System (ALSS) Technician for aircraft and crew. Successfully completed and be qualified by the appropriate U.S. Government ALSS Technician course. Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms or similar aviation maintenance management system, and other aircraft-related documentation. Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner. Possess a valid issued driver's license. Successfully pass an overseas deployment physical upon hire. HS diploma or equivalent required. Other: Travel up to 10% required. US Passport required.
