AUTOMOTIVE EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR (FLO) Vicenza, Italy

Responsibilities Incumbent performs initial, in-process, and final inspection of automotive vehicles such as passenger cars, forklifts, and vans requiring major and minor repairs. Responsibilities include:
Examining vehicles and their components on test stands and during road tests.Diagnosing location and source of defects and determining type of repair or adjustments to be made.Classifying vehicles and equipment as economically repairable or not economically repairable.Completing inspection sheets stating type and extent of repair work required.Checking vehicle/component for proper function, safe operational condition, and quality of workmanship during final inspection.Certifying roadworthiness of vehicle and recording results.Operating an Installation Movement Program (IMP) Privately Owned Vehicle (POV) Inspection Station.Performing safety inspections of privately owned vehicles to determine roadworthiness and proper functioning of lights, brakes, steering, condition of tires, etc.Informing owners of deficiencies detected and explaining repair work required.Re-inspecting vehicles that failed initial inspection after repairs and/or corrections have been made.Operating a forklift to move, stack, unstack, load, and unload materials.NOTE : Tour of duty is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 08.00 to 17.00, including a 1-hour uncompensated lunch break.
Qualifications Applicants must meet the qualification requirements in the Qualification Standards Handbook as summarized below:
1. ABILITY TO INSPECT;2. KNOWLEDGE OF EQUIPMENT ASSEMBLY, INSTALLATION, REPAIR;3. TECHNICAL PRACTICES;4. USE OF MEASURING INSTRUMENTS;5. ABILITY TO INTERPRET INSTRUCTIONS, SPECIFICATIONS, INCLUDING BLUEPRINT READING;6. ABILITY TO USE AND MAINTAIN TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT;7. TROUBLESHOOTING.NOTE : Incumbent is required to understand, read, write, and speak English fluently in order to read and understand established safety inspection standards and communicate with customers.
