We are looking for young, motivated, curious and enterprising talents to join us at our Agordo Operations Headquarters, where the history of our company began.
As an Automation Software Programmer, you will experience what it is like to lead transformation projects within our Automation Engineer Business unit.
The aim of the position is to reach automation project objectives, ensuring timing and quality requirements match process KPIs agreed with the Production Team, Quality Team, and Plant Direction.
The objective is to have a Robot and Vision System Programmer who can technically support automation suppliers based in different locations during the design, installation, and commissioning phases.
In addition, the Robot and Vision System Programmer will work directly on new automation or existing systems to improve their performance.
The automation installations are based in Agordo (BL).
Here are some of the responsibilities you will have:
Understand and guarantee automation technical specification compliance, being able to directly work on project technical aspects using HW and SW tools. Define requirements and technical specifications relating to the programming of automation solutions. Install, test, and start-up automated systems. Respect project timing. Monitor performance of installed machines with a specific focus on efficiency and cycle time improvement, proposing new solutions for automation of production flow. Support Production and maintenance teams on automation machines, effectively leading other team members, including remotely with different suppliers and other Lenses plants in different locations. Anticipate possible activities different from what was planned.
Be technically responsible for new installations during the initial phase with specific attention to safety aspects. Develop vision software for robot guidance, quality control, and dimensional inspection. Design vision systems in terms of hardware and optical setup definition (optics, lighting systems, cameras). Develop software applications for industrial automation using vision systems. Define requirements and technical specifications related to human-machine interface programming. Install, test, and start up automated systems. Manage suppliers for software development for industrial automation. Provide software technical support. PORTRAIT OF A PERFECT CANDIDATE

Possess advanced knowledge of programming languages C# and Python and development environments such as Visual Studio. Knowledge of HTML, C++, and JavaScript is a plus. Have advanced programming and software design experience of vision systems (particularly robot guidance and calibration techniques) using Cognex products in the InSight environment. Experience in optics and lighting applied in industrial vision systems. Programming and design of vision systems for dimensional and aesthetic inspection. Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (mainly Ethernet-IP, OPC, CIP protocol). Be passionate about technology trends to enable automation processes and outcomes. Have strong facilitation and communication skills, able to present information to audiences at all levels of the organization. Possess technical skills related to robot programming (ABB/Denso preferred). Capability of correctly interpreting HW/Fluidic mechanical drawings. PLC programming will be considered a plus.
