Here, the Expansion Project Team is planning and executing a game changer phased project aiming to integrate the current facility into a fully automated state-of-the-art container terminal, making use of the most advanced technologies and expertise.Your gateway in the Adriatic to EuropeThe Automation & IT Expert owns a part of the total automation solution from conceptualization to implementation.They review the operational flows and follows the Automation & IT requirements in close coordination with the Operations Implementation Team, the Safety team and the Asset team. They support documenting the solutions from a conceptual level down to the detailed technical solution that can be implemented. This implementation will be in close collaboration with the external equipment supplier and the internal teams. The person would have a high sense of responsibility as the role is vital to ensure we meet our operational goals in line with our OPEX & CAPEX targets.Good English (Italian and/or German are a plus)Experience (5+ year(s)) in automation/IT (port experience highly valued but not mandatory)Experience (5+ year(s)) in building processes and delivering automation projectsThorough understanding safety in automated environment (experience with the Italian legal environment & EU machinery directive highly valued)Strong problem solver – both in terms of technical solution as in collaborating with othersAbility to work in agile environmentSelf-starter with the ability to translate high level concepts into technical solutionsProcess & logic driven mentalityDegree in Engineering/IT/Automation otherThe ideal candidate would have a valid EU working permit and would be willing to relocate to Trieste in short notice.HHLA PLT Italy is part of HHLA Group, with over 6.400 employees worldwide.
