Associate Engineer (Ftc)

The Associate Engineer (Fixed Term Contract until 30-Jun-25) will take part in formal and on-the-job training programs.
Will perform work assignments that are developmental in nature, under the direct supervision of an experienced engineer.
Work assignments are designated to familiarize the incumbent with the Company's business, policies, methods, and procedures.
What You Will Do: Performs engineering reviews of plans of specific marine structures, as assigned, for compliance with applicable Rules, Regulations, and contract commitments.
Performs limited analysis related to specific marine structures.
Assists in the development of proposed changes to certification Rules as determined by identified needs and for rule development projects assigned.
Provides basic technical guidance to field operations and other technical groups.
Prepares written, technically accurate, and timely responses to faxes and letters from clients or other technical groups.
Drafts technically accurate reports detailing the results of various studies performed for review by a senior Engineer.
Prepares accurate and timely weekly reports and requests for invoices on all work performed.
Participates in related training seminars.
Undergoes ABS Quality System training and applies the TQM principle in the work environment.
Communicates the status of the current workload to all appropriate members of the organization's team to ensure the needs of the clients will be met.
What You Will Need (This is an entry-level job and requires no work experience): Education and Experience A Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent in an appropriate technical discipline.
Knowledge of related technical disciplines.
Knowledge of marine systems, facilities, and hardware.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The ability to identify, analyze and propose solutions to problems.
The ability to communicate, orally and in writing.
The ability to work well with others.
The ability to gain knowledge with all the ABS Health, Safety, Quality Environmental Management Systems.
Reporting Relationships: The incumbent reports to a senior level Engineer or Technical Manager.
This position does not have any direct reports.
