With guidance from the Assistant Dean, Academic Programs, the Associate Director organizes, manages and coordinates all aspects of Summer Sessions, Personal Enrichment and Pre-College Summer Academy within the College of Professional Studies.
The Associate Director ensures the alignment of program strategies and projects with the college's mission and vision, and is responsible for analyzing Villanova's competitive position in the marketplace for these programs.
This individual also brings forth new initiatives and program ideas for consideration by leadership.
The Associate Director works closely with college teams as well as in partnership with a variety of other units at the University.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSummer Session Management:Manages and oversees the success of all aspects of Summer Sessions.Facilitates and leads discussions and planning regarding schedule for offerings in collaboration with College Leadership.Consults with other Colleges and Department Chairs as needed for listing their courses.Confers with Director, Finance and Administration, Office of the Provost, Registrar and other senior leadership to ensure timely and efficient running of summer sessions.Manages the assignment and scheduling of CPS faculty for courses across all summer session programs.Assists with administrative preparation of faculty SOWs and payroll for all faculty in CPS for review and approval by Director, Finance and Administration as needed.Collaborates with Office of the Provost as needed.Works closely with the Admissions and Advising teams to understand trends and needs related to Visiting students.Identifies enrollment trends and makes recommendations for viable and valuable courses that will encourage students to enroll in summer courses.Utilizes data to create standardization of course offerings.Identifies and uses efficient processes ensuring accurate and excellent administrative management including issuance of contracts, payroll submission, cancellation of courses.Creates data reports and dashboards with analysis for senior leadership.Represents CPS on University Academic Calendar Committee.Bernard John Lucci Senior Citizen Personal Enrichment Program Management:Leads operational aspects of the Bernard John Lucci Senior Citizen Personal Enrichment Program.In collaboration with Assistant Dean, Academic Programs, assists in planning and development of a rich and robust program for senior citizens in the Villanova Community.Implements new opportunities and programming that will build upon the many years of existing successful programming for this population.Researches the specific needs of the Senior Citizen community ensuring management of a continuously improving program.Cultivates and maintains relationships with other Villanova colleges and departments to enhance and improve the program.Pre-College Summer Academy Management:Is primary contact person handling PCSA email account and phone calls.Is responsible for program communications with parents and students, prior to, during and after the program.Works with the CPS Marketing team to develop marketing and promotional materials for this program.Creates and maintains communication efforts for program stakeholders.Works with CPS Admission and Enrollment team to support the application and enrollment process.Plans and coordinates campus activities and social programming for evenings and weekends during the program.Is responsible for program logistics including space reservations and program planning for non-academic events.Posts positions, hires and trains and oversees student workers.Codifies policies and procedures, maintaining a program handbook.Creates, collects waivers and required documentation for students and staff.Works with University Minor Programs to ensure compliance with University and regulatory requirements.Seeks out and develops partnerships with other colleges on campus to diversify opportunities for PCSA students.Special Programs:Is responsible for operational aspects of college special programs including Diocesan Scholars and Conditionally Admitted Students.In collaboration with Assistant Dean, Academic Programs, assists in planning and development of these programs.Researches all applicable policies and procedures at the University and regulatory bodies.Provides necessary administration of programs to meet said requirements.Works with appropriate college and university personnel to provide highest quality management.Cultivates and maintains relationships with other Villanova colleges and departments to enhance and improve programs.Additional Responsibilities:Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.Oversees and participates in events with CPS on occasional nights and weekends.Minimum QualificationsFormal Education:Master's DegreeSpecific Job Knowledge:Experience in project management with a proven track record of the ability to work with multiple teams and constituencies.Expertise in streamlining operations.Ability to develop and nurture relationships with multiple stakeholders.Knowledge of university applications systems.Must be highly proficient in all standard computer applications.Minimum Work Experience:Minimum of 5 years of related experience required.Deep familiarity with the operations and processes of a college.Work Skills:Required problem-solving skills.Required communication skills.Required organizational skills.Required leadership skills.Preferred Qualifications7
