We're looking for people who are determined to make life better for people around the world.Organization Overview:The Global Supply Chain Excellence organization focuses on standardization of business processes by emphasizing on lean methodologies and master data management while interfacing with relevant key stakeholders including sites/networks, M&Q IT, and HR business partners.Role OverviewThe Associate Director Global Supply Chain – Materials Planning serves as the business process owners for Lilly's global warehousing processes.  Responsibilities include defining and documenting global business processes, identifying, and driving improvements, governing execution of the business processes, ensuring the tools and organization are capable and supporting the capabilities in the organization through appropriate guidance and training.The GPO - Materials Planning will be reporting to the Associate Director - Supply Chain Global Business Process Owner E2EResponsibilities: This role is accountable for defining, maintaining, and sustaining the global Materials Planning  process, which includes:Defining documenting the Materials Planning  business process stepsDesigning the process flow, key success measures and interaction with other processesImplementing transformational or continuous improvement changes to the processBenchmarking the process amongst industry peersHanding over the process to global and local Materials Planning  teams in the businessTrain users on the business processStrategyDefine global business processes for Materials Planning operations across all manufacturing networks (API, parenteral, and dry products) Develop a strategic vision for the business process in line with overall business objectivesMake recommendations for Materials Planning process development and improvement on behalf of the stakeholders.Make decisions to align processes, organizational roles, and technologyProcess governance:Form a companywide strategic roadmap to improve Materials Planning  process maturity.Align strategic roadmap with key stakeholders across functions, hierarchy and different parts of the business.Train users on business processesProcess Design:Serve as an expert and key team member in major process Global Supply Chain design changes.Document and map the global business processCapture and analyze business requirements and translate these into standardized business processes, including definitions, templates, data sources, technology roadmap, and roles and responsibilities.Development of key output and KPI requirements that support the Materials Planning  processEnable process design through technology and analyticsMeasurement and Continuous Improvement:Track benefits and improvement into the business.Channel continuous improvement ideas and select suitable ones to turn into projects.Ensure the Materials Planning  review processes happen on timeBasic Requirements:  BS or MS degree in Materials Management, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration or related field.At least 5 years of manufacturing and/or supply chain experience with understanding of material flows, preferably in the pharmaceutical industryStrong Materials Movement business process knowledgeKnowledge of systems required to plan and buy and manage materials .Additional Skills/Preferences:Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with technical and nontechnical audiences.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Good problem-solving and influencing skills.Ability to analyze project needs and balance competing interests, and to determine the resources needed to meet objectives.Use of business process modeling techniques, such as contextual inquiry, business narratives and value networking analysis.Project management skills to manage overall transformation or continuous improvement projects across multiple geographies.Ability to identify modifications to business practices to take full advantage of technology innovation.Use thought leadership to anticipate future needs and changes that might be required.Able to identify the impact of initiatives on business results to drive priorities.A certification in supply chain is desiredAdditional Information:Work shift:  Full time, normal work shiftTravel required (% of time) – <20%Eli Lilly and Company, Lilly USA, LLC and our wholly owned subsidiaries (collectively "Lilly") are committed to help individuals with disabilities to participate in the workforce and ensure equal opportunity to compete for jobs.
