The BRG Rome office is seeking to add an Associate to support the expansion of the office. The ideal candidate should be prepared to work in a team-oriented environment on a diverse range of economic sectors, ranging from regulated infrastructures to energy and competition issues. The role will involve analyzing complex regulatory issues and providing key insights and recommendations on a vast range of sectors and to various clients (regulators, regulated entities, investment funds) around the key economic issues of regulated infrastructures. In addition, the role will involve assisting investors in understanding the Italian and EU regulatory framework in the context of market transactions involving such assets.

Responsibilities: Support the day-to-day activities of BRG's Rome office through excellent quality analyses and preparing key deliverables for internal and external use. Demonstrate consistent, balanced project delegation, supervision, and leadership skills across all areas of an engagement. Assist in identifying issues for purchase price adjustments and potential deal structuring insights. Utilize business, finance, accounting, and analytical skills to perform tasks including, but not limited to quality of earnings, financial trend analysis, working capital trending, benchmark financial statement review, business plan assessments, and cash flow statements. Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment; collaborate with TA and BRG experts, professionals from other firms, and client contacts to achieve engagement objectives. Lead the preparation of reports, written analyses, presentations, and other client deliverables. Participate in the development of a fast-growing, entrepreneurial consulting practice including assisting in marketing, client pitches, and product and practice development. Demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism, ethics, quality, and integrity. Be ready to expand your network with clients to become a trusted and reputable advisor. Qualifications: Masters degree in economics or finance. Strong analytic and quantitative skills (including proficiency with analytical/statistical software such as R and Excel), along with practical problem-solving abilities. Advanced command in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Familiarity with financial research tools (e.g., Capital IQ, Bloomberg, etc.). Excellent oral and written communication skills in Italian (native or equivalent level) and English. Working knowledge of a third European language is highly desirable. Expertise in financial modeling and analysis (particularly in Excel), including constructing and understanding financial models, cash flows, and scenario analyses. Ability to manage and analyze large volumes of financial and operational data. Ability to interpret the results of qualitative and quantitative analysis and develop insights and recommendations. Excellent written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with junior and senior team members, senior management, and other stakeholders or professionals. Mature presence, empathy, intellectual curiosity, and ability to learn quickly. Strong problem solving and project management skills. Strong relationship building skills. Ability to work well independently or in a team dynamic. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize changing work demands and learn quickly. Willingness to take ownership. A high level of enthusiasm and proactivity to develop and learn new skills. A strong attention to detail. The ability to produce high-quality work under time-sensitive conditions.
