Ca' Foscari invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Econometrics . Ca' Foscari is looking for an assistant professor of Econometrics c apable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world. Teaching activities: The candidate is expected to collaborate with the Department of Economics in the teaching activities. The candidate will teach in courses related to Econometrics including introductory courses at the bachelor level and advanced courses at the master and PhD level. The ideal candidate: - has skills in mathematics and statistics for the development of new econometric methods and models and skills in economics, finance and coding for the realisation of empirical analyses in the different subfields of economics. - has research experience and interests in different inference methods, forecasting methods, linear and nonlinear models and their applications to financial econometrics, macroeconometrics and microeconometrics, with a focus on the causal relationship discovering and measuring risks from different sources. - She/he is expected to collaborate with the other researchers of the VIVA research project and of the Department of Economics to contribute to the research activities defined by the project leader. - will also contribute to fund-raising activities aimed at financing the VIVA research projects (mainly risk and vulnerability analysis) in collaboration with the technical and administrative staff. The contract is financed by the VIVA (Venice Initiative on Vulnerability Analysis) Department of Excellence research project (2023-27). The aim of VIVA is to study how to deal with the issues related to social and economic systems in transition, with a special focus on vulnerable situations that might be exacerbated by exposure to exogenous shocks and increasing inequality in multiple. The position will be in the Department of Economics , a centre that carries out innovative research in fields such as economics, finance, statistics and mathematics, covering all the legal, social, international, and environmental aspects of these disciplines. The Department has recently received a "Department of Excellence" Award by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. The Excellence Award has allowed the department to receive additional state funding to develop innovative projects on Economic and Risk Analytics for public policies. The Department offers Bachelor, Master and PhD programmes taught entirely in English.
