Position Information The Department of Critical Race and Ethnic Studies (CRES) at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA, invites applications for an assistant professor tenure-track position beginning the fall 2025 semester. Our department seeks an individual with teaching experience and scholarly interests in the fields of Ethnic Studies, Critical Race Studies, American Studies, or a related interdisciplinary field. Expectations include teaching introductory and upper-division undergraduate courses and supervising and mentoring students in upper-division research projects. All members of the department contribute to student advising, reflective and effective teaching, department assessment and evaluation, academic citizenship, program development, and recruiting. The person hired in this position will be able to engage in meaningful critical race/ethnic studies research of their liking. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Ethnic Studies, Critical Race Studies, American Studies, or related interdisciplinary field (ABDs will be considered with the expectation of degree in hand by July 16, 2025). Evidence of current and future research in critical race and/or ethnic studies. Evidence of ability to teach introductory courses and develop courses in their area of specialty.
