**ABOUT THE ROLE**
- To support the Crew Manager to ensure the smooth crewing operations
- To assist the Crew Manager as directed and including the following
**Key Responsibilities**
- Communication of crew changes to vessels recruiting agents and port agents
- Making and/or co-ordinating travel and visa arrangements for joining and leaving crew in conjunction with travel department recruitment agents vessels and port agents
- Making travel arrangements for sea staff to attend the office for interview or briefing and to ensure that such visits are properly documented
- Provide emergency support to managed vessel seafarers as maybe necessary
- Provide welcoming and supportive environment when seafarers visit the office
- Visit vessels and attend meetings as required
- Ensure that any SMS/VMS documentation deficiencies are brought to the attention of the Crew Manager
- Assist the Crew Manager to prepare contracts
- Liaise with Flag State administrations for the issue of required crew documentation
- To deal with all correspondence received including the timely forwarding of crew mail
- Ensure seafarer data is entered accurately into the system so that up-to-date information is available at all times and the crew list updated
- Ensuring all mobilised Seafarers meet SMS recruitment and mobilisation criteria
- Supporting the welfare of crew and their families as required
- Participating in internal and external audits
**Qualifications**:
- 2+ years of relevant experience in the Crew department of a marine company
- Comprehensive understanding of maritime legal requirements eg MLC is appreciated
- Proficiency in oral and written English Language
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and interact with people at all levels
- Thorough awareness and good understanding of culture and diversity
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Proven ability to work to and meet tight deadlines
- Proven experience to work with Microsoft Office Applications Outlook Excel Word etc
- Able to give clear and direct instructions
