American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Academics at our Anthem South 7-12 campus located in Florence, AZ. Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, a valid AZ IVP fingerprint clearance card.
The Assistant Director of Academics plays a pivotal role in enhancing the academic experience for students and supporting faculty in delivering high-quality education. This position involves collaborating with the Director and other educational leaders to implement curriculum standards, develop innovative teaching practices, and foster a culture of academic excellence.
Duties include but are not limited to: Observe teachers in the assigned content areas and provide feedback. Based on observation, utilize coaching strategies as necessary.Meet with parents and staff members as needed.Support the Campus director and teachers in areas outside of academics as needed such as: student discipline, traffic duty, etc.Oversee the completion of lesson plans, grades, meeting minutes and agendas, newsletters, etc.Assist the Campus Director in the creation of the agenda's for all staff meetings and provide training as needed.Work with teachers to ensure the successful completion of the necessary retention/credit loss procedures.Assist the counseling department and the District Registrar to complete all schedule changes based upon student enrollment, staffing, and academic concerns.Assist in the hiring of all paraprofessionals and teachers.Attend and lead summer training sessions as assigned by the Chief Academic Officer.Other duties as assigned.Candidates with the following qualities will thrive as part of our growing ALA team: Leadership and team collaboration skillsPositive interpersonal and communication skillsOrganizational skills and self-management to effectively handle multiple responsibilitiesCommitment to go above and beyond when necessary to reach goals.Strong planning, execution and problem solving skillsSelf-motivationDependabilityMinimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in education or related fieldK-12 classroom experienceManagement experience in education or related fieldLifelong learnerOrganizedCommunicates effectivelyPositiveTeam-Player, collaborativePreferred Requirements: 7-12 History/English/Math/Science/AP classroom experienceAP ExperienceMaster's degree in Education or assigned fieldKnowledge of all state and federal academic mandatesKnowledge of state funding for all academic programsKnowledge of requirements for a successful academic programGifted/ Talented Endorsement or experienceSpecial Education Certification or experience504 Coordinator experienceELL Endorsement or experienceAmerican Leadership Academy offers a competitive salary that is individually determined based on education and experience.
