Job purpose The Assistant Bar Manager supports the Bar Manager in overseeing the operations of the bar at the exclusive member club.
They assist in maintaining high service standards, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with regulations to provide exceptional experiences for members and guests.
Main Activities and Responsibilities: • Assist the Bar Manager in supervising and managing all bar staff, including bartenders and barbacks, ensuring proper training and performance.
• Support the Bar Manager in developing and implementing policies and procedures to maintain exceptional service standards and member & guest satisfaction.
• Help manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock control, to minimize waste and optimize profitability.
• Collaborate with the Bar Manager to ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, as well as liquor licensing laws.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Support the Bar Manager in monitoring financial performance, analyzing sales data, and implementing strategies to increase revenue and profitability.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing member inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
• Assist in planning and executing special events, promotions, and tastings to enhance the club's reputation and attract new members.
• Help foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, communication, and professional development among staff.
• Assist in staying updated on industry trends, new products, and best practices to continuously improve the bar's offerings and service standards.
• Manage other activities relating to or resulting from what is indicated in the previous points.
Key Competencies: Required Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
• Previous experience (3+ years) in a bartending or supervisory role in a high-end bar or restaurant setting.
• Knowledge of one or more foreign languages (min.
Italian and English) General Knowledge and Technical Skills: • Strong knowledge of alcoholic beverages, cocktail mixology, and wine service.
• Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office suite.
Personal and Interpersonal Skills: • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with members, guests, and staff.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and service.
