Job Description As an Application Engineer of the Mobile/Modular Substation Center of Competence, your main task will be to technically support Marketing, Sales, Tendering, Execution and Service. You will represent the Center of Competence in various tender and project teams managing technical solutions, customer needs, promoting customer understanding and awareness of mobile solutions. Daily, you will collaborate with other departments during the entire tender process. As Application Engineer, you will ensure timely, optimized, cost-effective solutions in accordance with standard processes, procedures, and safety guidelines. The Application Engineer will also work in close cooperation with R&D, coordinating new base solutions required for tenders and conducting training to expand the application knowledge inside the company.
Your Responsibilities Technically support Marketing, Sales, Tendering, Execution and Service Communicates efficiently with customers and other stakeholders (TSOs, DSOs, consultants, among others). Works closely with our Front-End Sales organization to leverage relationships and the Hitachi Energy portfolio. Ensures a positive customer experience throughout the sales, tendering, execution and service processes. Seeks optimized technical solutions resourcefully, collaborating with broad Hitachi Energy teams. Creates added value for the customer and Hitachi Energy by using innovation and experience from installed projects. Communicates details in accordance with Hitachi Energy offering and strategy. Accountable for the technical solution and will have a technical coordinating role in tenders Supports and participates in market communications: seminars, conference events, publications. Conduct training sessions. Your Background Education: Bachelors of Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in tender/project work within HV/MV electrical system integration.
Skills: Customer focus and ability to gather information and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and related industry. Interdisciplinary substation design knowledge. Ability to create Single Line Diagrams, Bill of Materials, Major Equipment Specifications, and list of technical deviations. Ability to create layouts utilizing 2D/3D software (Autocad and Revit preferred). Ability to provide engineering project schedule and engineering estimate. Ability to perform technical risk analysis and provide mitigation strategies during tendering. On-site substation project experience including installation and supervision. Ability to work to deadlines and within budgets. Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects/bids while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (German is a plus). Availability to travel up to 25%.
