Job Description: This is a key role for providing essential service and responsibility for producing, during bid stage, practical design solutions, including support documentation, to meet customer expectations and assembly methods based upon technical specifications provided and/or site survey information.
Reporting to the Application Team Leader, in this role you will be interacting with other sites and areas of the business to ensure designs meet the desired criteria.
Responsibilities: Provide design advice, interpret prospective customer requirements, and estimate costs to meet those requirements.
Liaise with Sales dept to ensure adequate information is available for compiling estimates.
Produce cost-effective and reliable preliminary design solutions to meet customers' needs.
Produce preliminary technical documentation including installation procedures, schematics (Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electrical), wiring diagrams, and calculations using current procedures with the support of the available tools.
Travel as required.
This role would suit a determined problem-solver, who can think logically outside the box for troubleshooting issues and take part in projects and/or work for continuously improving the effectiveness of the business.
Experience Requirements: Ideally 2 years' experience.
Mechanical engineering background with knowledge in other disciplines.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Excellent knowledge of 3D CAD software (Solid Edge).
Ability to work as a member of a team to tight time and cost constraints is essential.
