YOUR ROLE As an Application Engineer, the candidate will strongly contribute to developing demonstration boards where High Voltage Power Components will be used in several applications (DC-DC converter, On Board Battery Charger, Traction Inverter) and be offered to potential customers.
The candidate's responsibility over the product development is essential and goes from product definition to final complete application testing.
The candidate will deal with the complete system starting from the definition of the topology, selection of power components, magnetics components, definition of microcontroller architecture, schematic definition, supervision of CAD layout and power trace routing, assembly of PCBA, laboratory debug and validation, EMI compliance testing, and test reporting activity.
Moreover, he/she strongly supports Marketing and Sales forces during the technical promotion process. For such a reason, he/she will be continuously in contact with direct customers and distributors during the product design-in phase.
Support to the design-in will be exploited with both hardware and software tools.
After-sales technical support will also be offered at any time.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES Power electronics sound knowledge, DC-DC, OBC, Traction Inverters excellent knowledge, Traction Inverters test equipment knowledge, Power Transistor Characterization Know-how, Laboratory Instruments Usage (Oscilloscopes, bidirectional power sources, electronic loads, signal generators), Microcontroller and motor control main algorithm implementation knowledge, Mission profile assessment, Automotive domain knowledge, Power electronics: System architecture evolution awareness, Wide-band-gap materials based power transistors, Thermo-mechanical simulation, Spice model.
Other skills:
Flexibility/adaptivity to changing working environment, open personality to build excellent relationships with both customers and colleagues, Discipline & Results Orientation, Sense of urgency & Initiative, Knowledge Sharing, Teamwork, Ability to work autonomously retrieving all the relevant tools/info, problem-solving approaches, Empowerment & Accountability.
