Opal Analyst - Advert
Opal is looking for a highly-driven, enthusiastic analyst to be part of our team.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Opal. Opal are the National Intelligence Unit for Serious and Organised Acquisitive Crime (SOAC) and we are growing and developing our capabilities!

We have a vacancy for an analyst to join us on a 2-year fixed term contract or secondment opportunity. The successful candidate will work closely with law enforcement, partner agencies, and industry. Providing a multi-agency approach to target and disrupt organised crime groups involved in cross border criminality.

We seek to discover and develop intelligence from a variety of sources, highlight current and emerging crime trends, share good practice and learning, and target those causing the greatest harm to our communities.

Opal report to the North Wales Chief Constable, Amanda Blakeman, who is the National Police Lead for acquisitive crime in support of the National Police Chiefs Council. This role provides the opportunity to work locally within your force area and from home; however, some travel will be required.

The role is being advertised as entirely remote and we are looking for the very best to join our team!
Requirements for the role:
Criteria for consideration includes the below however I would advise having a chat with us given the unique nature of the role:



Analytical experience or similar experience that can be applied demonstrating the ability to effectively problem solve
Proficient in the use of IT systems including Excel, ppt, Word with the ability to learn to use new packages
Ability to work independently taking ownership for their own work with a proactive approach to analysis closely supported by Intelligence Support Managers
Understanding of internal and external factors (such as drivers and enablers of criminality) which may influence both strategic and tactical analysis
Ability to work as part of a team and across partner agencies managing stakeholder expectations

Desirable:

Experience working in an analytical or intelligence capacity across policing or in an investigative capacity

All roles are work from home so candidates must feel comfortable working from home.
