Job Description SummaryIn the role of Airworthiness Certification Engineer, you will contribute to ensure that the Company's Design Management System is kept aligned with regulatory updates.
You will be directly responsible for actively supporting the design teams during the entire life cycle (NPI and fielded products) by establishing strong collaboration with GE Avio Sections and GE Aerospace.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesContribute with internal/external customers in defining and executing the certification plans for NPI and changes to fielded products ensuring that the design or the design changes comply with the applicable type-certification basis and environmental protection requirements.Establish the type-certification basis, ensure the certification programs are prepared and coordinate all tasks related to type investigation in concurrence with EASA.Monitor and communicate project status, regulatory issues, and significant developments on engine programs related to engagement with Authority, in line with business needs and program milestones and deliverables.Contribute to cross-functional teams to improve or resolve manufacturing, suppliers', or field issues ensuring the continued airworthiness.Contribute to the preparation of the Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (service bulletins, maintenance manuals, etc.)
and ensure airworthiness review of these instructions.Provide guidance to all departments of the GEAC design organisation in all matters relating to airworthiness, environmental protection approvals, and certification.Contribute to cross-functional teams in cost reduction, problem solving, and lean initiatives.Prepare and present at Technical Reviews.Qualifications/RequirementsMaster's degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering.Experience in an engineering position.Knowledge of turbomachinery and rotorcraft and design requirements.Knowledge of regulatory requirements in EU (CS-E, CS-27, CS-29) and EASA Part-21 basic principles.Never-ending learning attitude and a system thinking mentality.Problem solver.Self-directed and motivated.Open mindset and strong attitude to work in a team.Solid interpersonal skills.Capability to work in a dynamic and international environment.Fluency in English (speaking and writing/reading).Availability to travel.Work VISA, in accordance with local regulation, is required.Desired CharacteristicsExperience with certification activities working with EASA, having worked as an airworthiness engineer is preferred.Awareness of Regulatory Specifications in US jurisdiction (FAA /FAR).Basic knowledge of design criteria.Solid oral and written communication skills.Passionate, curious, and enthusiastic for engineering challenges.What we offerSmart working and work-life balanceAvio Aero, when possible, promotes remote work and encourages a good, healthy and satisfying work-life balance.
