Aircraft Mechanic - C-26 Program - Naples, ItalyCompany:Category: MaintenanceJob Type: PermanentCity: NaplesState: Country: ItalyThe Vertex Aircraft Mechanic performs organizational and intermediate-level maintenance on C-26 aircraft.
Responsibilities include servicing, launch and recovery, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness.
Tasks are performed on avionics and electrical systems, environmental systems, engines, flight controls, and airframe components.
Repairs are conducted using hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
Duties also involve reading and interpreting manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
Additionally, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairs on aviation ground support equipment are required.Essential Duties:Comply with written company maintenance and logistics procedures.Interpret drawings, specifications, and aircraft/component schematics and blueprints.Comply with FAA regulations as applicable.Understand and comply with the requirements outlined in the Contractor Logistics Support Services (CLS) performance work statement.Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded and corrected by approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract.Maintain a clean and organized workspace.Perform aircraft launch and recovery missions as necessary.Deploy to overseas locations with unit aircraft to support operational requirements.Job Requirements:FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.A minimum of three (3) years of recent hands-on airframe and powerplant experience, with an emphasis on heavy structural repair.A minimum of one (1) year of C-26 (Metroliner) hands-on experience.
Note: The 1 year of experience may be waived at the Program Manager's discretion if the candidate has demonstrated proficiencies in heavy structural repair areas.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.Physically able to deploy with unit aircraft to overseas locations.Must qualify and obtain a Passport (if requested).Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent.Working Conditions:Work is usually conducted in an office, warehouse, aircraft hangar, and flight line atmosphere.Exposed to typical aircraft maintenance conditions such as engine noise, riveting, dust, and chemical fumes, none of which are intolerable.
Hearing, vision, and breathing protection are provided in appropriate areas.Some exposure to elements of weather when traveling and/or commuting between buildings.May require extensive travel.Overtime may be required on occasion.Physical and Mental Conditions:Normal physical exertion is required for periods of working on foot or standing.Lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds is required.Kneeling may be required in the performance of duties.Ability to twist, bend, squat, climb, and/or perform other body movements to accomplish the requirements of the position.Use of either or both hands for grasping items is required.Manual dexterity and the ability to push/pull, i.e., open/close file cabinets and/or handle machinery is required.Ability to reach above shoulder height in accomplishing job tasks.Ability to walk on uneven surfaces is required.Sufficient vision is necessary to accomplish the requirements of the position.Environmental conditions are diverse and could range from an office environment to areas with high noise hazards where hearing protection is required.Vertex is committed to building a diverse and inclusive environment, recognizing and valuing differences while fostering a culture that promotes core values: Professionalism, Integrity, and Respect.
