NIPPON GASES Advanced Control System Engineer Job Description The position of Advanced Control System Engineer will work with the Italian Operations team and other corporate/regional/plant personnel. The overall objective of the Advanced Control System Engineer is to manage operations information systems to support safe and reliable operation of production facilities. This person will have the ability to lead, work independently, and make decisions based on full awareness of cost and other benefits.
Key Responsibilities: Responsible to define and test standard bulk plant computers hardware (Operations machines); Responsible for computers base image preparation and the implementation in the European bulk plants control systems; Responsible for troubleshooting the bulk plant computers hardware and software. Define software upgrades; Validate non-standard bulk plants control system computers upgrades; Test and Validate Windows Patches; Responsible for standard bulk plant computers backups and integrity assurance; Maintain control systems inventory lists; Responsible for maintaining the Cybersecurity integrity within the bulk operations facilities in alignment with IT Department; Responsible for Operations Network users' management and training; Maintain and update selected standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the operations network management systems and their associated work processes; New projects implementation, coordinating with IT when needed; Support for specific applications. This position is primarily office based but could require Italian travel up to 20% of the time. Off-hours accessibility (laptop and cell phone) are occasionally required.
Required Qualifications: Associates Degree in Engineering or Information Technology Systems; Background in Industrial Gases or Chemical Industry; 3 years of experience in information technology in Industrial environment; Proven experience with Industrial control systems (SCADA's, PLC's, …) & Windows OS; Cybersecurity basic knowledge; Excellent communication in English and team interaction skills; Proven ability to take leadership; Proven experience as a self-starter who effectively manages multiple tasks and achieves results with minimal supervision. Desired Qualifications: Proven experience with GE iFix and Rockwell products. Proven experience with ABB, Foxboro and / or Siemens. Proven familiarity with standard industrial equipment and parts in a continuous process manufacturing environment.
