Job Summary: The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for an ambitious professional ready to jump-start a rewarding career.
This position completes administrative duties and special projects as requested by the Deputy Warden at Arizona State Prison Complex - Eyman.
Job Duties: - Compiles reports, letters, inquiries, and policy updates- Manages supervisor calendar- Researches material and gathers data for special projects- Develops or modifies procedures and forms- Interprets and explains organizational rules, regulations and department orders- Supervises subordinate staff- Drives on State business- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment- Researches and responds to public inquires- Composes correspondence, uses computer equipment in the completion of job assignments- Conducts the Capital Equipment Inventory each quarter- Acts a backup timekeeper for all areas within the Eyman Complex- Answers, screens, and refers calls appropriately- Updates Department policy manuals - Creates, organizes and maintains confidential and administrative files- Logs, tracks, copies, and forwards responses for correspondence and documentation - Coordinates special events, meetings, and fundraising events Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of: - Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) personnel rules and ADCRR policies and procedures- Grammatical formatting using concise, specific, and grammatically correct non-technical language - Organizational movement - Management of business practices and work processing- Accounting and budgeting proceduresSkill in: - Written and verbal communication - Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships - Organization and project management- Problem-solving and analytical thinkingAbility to: - Provide effective guidance and supervision of employees- Investigate and resolve problems- Plan, analyze and coordinate activities and establish priorities- Develop effective operating procedures- Work effectively under short deadlines and under minimal supervision- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously - Work in a prison environment Selective Preference(s): - Three (3) years of administrative experience reporting to a manager or administrator- Working knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite Pre-Employment Requirements: Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test.Requires the possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment.
Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code ).In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
