The Accounts Payable Specialist performs the day to day processing of accounts payable transactions to ensure that departmental finances are maintained in an effective, expedient, up to date and accurate manner.
The Accounts Payable Specialist provides updates and reviews of trade payable accounts to ensure that information is properly recorded and the records contain appropriate authorisation for payment.
- Degree qualified in related fields (e.g., Business, Finance)
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Multitasking ability, handling stress and working under pressure capacity
- Processes invoices and verifies accuracy of invoices
- Addresses the resolution of price or quantity discrepancies between purchasing and vendor
- Monitors, reconciles and manages vendors cards
- Understands expense accounts and cost centres
- Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes (vat, taxes, custom duties)
- Liaises with other MSC departments and vendors
