The Accounting & Tax manager oversees the day-to-day operations of employees who post and balance books of account, such as cash book, general journal, sales book, purchase register, CAPEX register and General Ledgers.
This individual acts as the accounting team leader and oversees the preparation of Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss statements, coding of invoices and vouchers with proper account distribution.
The resource is also responsible for supervising tax reporting, tax planning and compliance functions, he or she supervises the completion of accurate tax returns and all tax/compliance obligations under US GAAP and local GAAP.
Activities may include, but are not limited to
- Support and assist in the close process.
Complete analysis; analyze information for accuracy and completeness, under US GAAP and local GAAP;
- Support and assist in the AOP process.
Review cost center budgets.
Ensure plan is accurate and realistic;
- Ensure Finance compliance and always up-to-date to new requirements for US GAAP and local GAAP (Italian & Spanish);
- Support on Annual Accounts (Italy & Spain) and constant tracking of entity registrations and compliance deadlines;
- Support for Corporate Secretarial: completing standard legal procedures for directorships, shareholders, entity names and registered addresses;
- Drafting customary legal documents;
- Main contact with local tax advisors, audit firms, authorities, etc;
- Give staff exposure to global operations.
Look for opportunities to support business units;
- Has impact on budgeting, controlling costs, planning, scheduling, and procedural change;
- Monitor and guide employee activities, assist with problems and take action when necessary to ensure work quality standards and planned schedules are maintained;
- Perform various activities to backup and maintain the workflows in the department;
- Ensure that the supervised department meets daily/annual goals.
Assess and suggest new procedures and processes to increase efficiency
Qualifiche
- Bachelor's Degree in Economy or related field.
- 5 - 7 years accounting & taxes or related experience with supervisory or lead experience a plus.
- Thoroughly understands the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of accounting and general ledger.
- Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles are essential.
- Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in Italian
- Good project management and business partnering skills.
- Possess effective supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of applicable state, federal and tax laws.
- Excellent audit skills.
- Nice to have - Business intelligence and Oracle, Hyperion
