JOB DESCRIPTION ROLE: Accounting Senior Expert Short Role Description / Purpose: The Accounting Senior Expert is responsible for the constant updating of company accounting (e.g.
VAT registers, bank accounts, assets) by processing records, allocations, management adjustments and intercompany transactions.
He/she provides for the reconciliation of general ledger accounts and updating of journal entries.
His/her activities include supporting the closing of the general ledger accounts with period-end processing and the external audit.
In addition, he/she also supports the Line Manager in ensuring compliance with internal control and provides input for notes and tax information required by regulations.
Long Description: Ensures the correct registration of journal entries of the Italian and foreign companies and the related VAT accounts; Ensure the management of VAT registers purchases and sales for the relevant monthly settlement; Manages the preparation and archive of tax returns for the administrative function; Guarantees the timely accounting registration of bank movements in the area of competence; Ensures the correct assets management and related depreciation; Ensures the correct and timely manual invoice issue; Ensure the printing of the journal ledger and VAT registers for the purpose of their electronic storage; Management of withholding taxes and related tax obligations (e.g certifications (CUR) and 770); Ensures the correct and timely collection accounting and support the AR department in reconciliation activities; Guarantees the constant updating of the bookkeeping; Guarantees compliance with accounting standards and deadlines relating to document requests from the independent auditors and the board of statutory auditors of the two Italian companies; Supports end-of-period closing activities in accordance with agreed closing schedules; Performs reconciliation of accounts, bank statements, petty cash, advances, and other accounts payable or receivable; Supports the recording, reconciliation, and analysis of intercompany transactions including intercompany payments, cash application, and period-end closing; Develops and maintain reports and files on asset and liability account balances; Ensures compliance with the law and regulations in compliance with the provisions of the control model pursuant to and for the purposes of D. Lgs.
231/01 and the codes of conduct within own area of competence; Ensures compliance with legal requirements and procedures on occupational safety and hygiene as well as environmental protection within its area of responsibility.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines.
Technical Expertise: Languages: Italian and English (fluent); Knowledge of the main productivity and collaboration tools (Google Workspace, MS Office-Excel); Knowledge of SAP4HANA software; Knowledge of ITA GAAP; Strong understanding of General Ledger practices; Knowledge and understanding of front-end/ external/ feeder systems and related data flows; Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical sector.
