Duties and Responsibilities As Accounting Receivable Clerk, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation in the following:
Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions. Monitors receivables by totalling unpaid invoices. Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, Front Office, F&B and from customers. Posts valid or authorized charges by entering adjusting entries in various hotel accounts. Resolves invalid or unauthorized transactions by following appropriate standard procedures. Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line. Summarizes receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating daily transfers to accounts receivable account; verifying totals. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. Answers phone calls from members, groups, and guests. Researches and follows up on chargebacks. Works closely with all Sales/Events Managers to establish necessary credit for upcoming groups/events and to prepare final bills to clients. Complies with governmental and company policies, procedures, and regulations. Compiles statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses. Upkeep Six Senses guidelines and standards of service and operation. My performance benchmarks are maintained and exceeded. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications To execute the position of Accounting Receivable Clerk, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:
Diploma or equivalent in Finance or Accounting and professional accounting body certification and at least 1 year experience in a hotel accounting role or similar setting. Hospitality diploma/degree from a recognized hospitality school is preferred. Technical skills include advanced MS Office, Outlook platforms and Materials Control (MC), plus able to operate 10-key calculators and to perform calculations. I am also familiar with various hotel systems including POS, PMS and CRM platforms. Fluent in Italian and English. I understand that additional languages are preferred.
