The Global Information Technology (IT) Department of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) is actively working on rationalizing and streamlining the diverse technological landscape within the Group.

**Accountant**:
We are currently looking for an Accountant to manage our Accounting function at MSC Technology Italy.
This role will report to Managing Director of the Company.
This role is responsible that reconciliations and accounting procedures relating to Company Accounting are performed to MSC Group standards and in line with Statutory requirements, ensuring that the GL records are accurate and complete.
It involves liaison and resolution of any accounting issues with MSC Group entities, and overall timely and quality month-end close.
The main responsibilities of this position are to perform the following activities:
- Quality month-end close, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of finance and accounting data in SAP for Group and Statutory, and in Cognos for Group Reporting purposes;
- Close liaison with external consultants on any Statutory / Tax reporting requirements;
- Manage all aspects of GL Accounts Reconciliation process for the area of responsibility.
- Ensure that all GL reconciling items are identified and appropriate journal corrections are made in a timely basis;
- Reconciliation of Intercompany accounts with MSC Group entities, work closely any intercompany issues / discrepancies;
- When required, handling of supplier invoices, correct and timely recording in SAP and follow-up of their approval when applicable;
- Identifying process efficiency and effectiveness opportunities and recommend steps for improvement;
- Documenting any new processes with respective narratives and controls in place;
- Other ad-hoc assignments.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance;
- At least 3 years of progressive experience in a similar function;
- Hands-on experience with SAP is required; Any experience in SAP implementation is a strong asset;
- Strong Excel skills is an asset;
- Fluent in English and Italian, both written and spoken
- Experience in a multinational and complex environment is a plus;
