Position Information Posting Number: 20244998V Position Title: AAP Peer Leader Posting Type Student Hours/week: 2 - 37.5 hours/week Eligibility: Work study preferred but open to all students Semester 2024 Summer Location Falvey Memorial Library Detailed Work Schedule Number of positions: 5 Department: 702 - Center for Access Success and Achievement Contact Name: Dr. Rachel Epstein Contact Phone/Extension: 610-519-4103 Position Summary Information Job Description Summary: • Collaborate with AAP Assistant Director and Co-Peer Counselors to plan AAP Program activities. • Welcome incoming students and their families, addressing questions and concerns.• Talk with incoming students individually throughout Orientation weekend to ensure they feel included. comfortable, and supported. • Facilitate programming. • Facilitate connections between students. • Monitor student progress and well-being and notify the AAP Assistant Director of student concerns as soon as possible. • Conduct check-in meetings with students and make brief records of topics addressed and student progress. Requirements: Required Qualifications • Record of reliable participation in CASA . • Conscientiousness. • Knowledge of Villanova resources. • Capacity to lead. • Ability to address conflicts calmly. • Creativity in program development as well as problem solving. • Willingness to collaborate closely with peers and staff. • Willingness to work closely with AAP students and give attention to their well-being. Preferred Qualifications • Experience as a mentor and/or group leader. • Expertise in time management.
