WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a researcher in climate sciences and adaptation with expertise in analysing and managing the social impacts of climate change.
The role is embedded in a multidisciplinary context, aiming to develop innovative approaches for climate risk and resilience assessment, particularly through engaging local communities and stakeholders in the co-design and enhancement of climate services at urban, regional, and national levels.

ROLE Development of tools and methodologies for stakeholder engagement: The person will be responsible for developing tools and methodologies that enhance stakeholder involvement in resilience-building projects, ensuring that the proposed solutions are inclusive and effective.Collaboration in research and applied projects: The person will collaborate on research projects addressing the socio-economic dimensions of climate change, with a focus on equity, inclusivity, and social justice.Integration of stakeholder perspectives into solutions: The person will ensure that stakeholder perspectives are incorporated into the final solutions, ensuring that responses to climate change are sensitive to the needs of all involved groups, particularly vulnerable ones.Support for building resilience at the local, regional, and national levels: The person will contribute to projects aimed at strengthening the resilience of vulnerable communities and ecosystems, with a concrete commitment to promoting long-term solutions for addressing climate change.Management of complex and multidisciplinary projects: The role requires a commitment to managing projects that involve different sectors and expertise, ensuring that solutions are sustainable, effective, and based on solid collaboration among all partners.RESPONSIBILITIES
The Researcher in Climate Sciences and Stakeholder Engagement will support the REMHI Division, with:
Develop and conduct research to assess the impacts of climate change on socio-economic systems, focusing on built environment.Implement co-design approaches to actively involve local communities and key stakeholders in climate change adaptation processes, enhancing the relevance and accessibility of climate services.Collaborate with academic partners, public institutions, non-governmental organizations, and local communities to design and implement adaptation strategies tailored to specific regional and urban needs.Contribute to the integration of community-driven insights into climate resilience planning and the development of localized adaptation tools.Support the development of tools and methodologies to strengthen stakeholder involvement in resilience-building initiatives and adaptation measures in the built environment.Lead and participate in applied research projects aimed at improving climate risk communication and supporting evidence-based decision-making at local levels.REQUIREMENTS PhD in Climate Science and Management, Environmental Policy and Management, Urban Climate and Resilience, Environmental Social Sciences or a related field.Experience in research and analysis of climate risks, particularly in urban and regional contexts.Experience in stakeholder engagement, including collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and facilitating dialogue between science, public institutions, civil society, and local communities.Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.Experience in developing and managing participatory research methods and writing scientific articles.DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally.The Managers will be based in Caserta CMCC office.Contract and gross annual salary will be based on qualifications and working experience.Welfare package, for minimum 12 months contract.Flexible working time as per internal policies.Support during the immigration process, if needed.PROTECTED CATEGORY
