Our work aims to stimulate sustainable growth, protect the environment, and develop strategies for the adaptation and mitigation of climate change.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOROur Institute European Institute on Economics and the Environment (EIEE) is looking for a new position of bright researchers motivated to work on the defining issue of climate change. For this position of "Behavioural science", the successful applicant will work on design and impact evaluation of field experiments, with responsibilities related to specific tasks include but are not limited to:Design and implement surveys and field experiments on behavioural interventions to promote clean energy adoptionAnalyze high-frequency metering data and employ machine-learning techniquesCombine administrative data with data from other sources, retrieved through web-scraping techniquesStructural estimations and welfare analysisWrite and contribute to scientific articles and science-policy reports derived from the above work, and present those at scientific workshops and conferencesWorkplace location: Milan, Italy.REQUIREMENTSThe position is mainly targeted at post-docs and junior researchers.We are looking for a motivated person with the following requirements:The ideal candidate for this position holds (or is close to completing) a PhD in economics, data science, or related fields, and shows a strong track record in quantitative methods (advanced econometrics, computational methods, machine learning, etc.). Programming in STATA, R or any other major statistical software. Fluency in English (Italian not needed), good presentation and writing skills. Willingness to travel to project meetings and to conferences. Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and diverse environment committed to high-quality research.Desirable: experience with web scraping techniques, programming in python.DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITSThe appointment period will be initially 12 months, renewable for two additional years pending a positive evaluation. Tenure can be granted from 2 to 4 years after being appointed as a junior researcher. The gross salary will be based on qualification and working experience and competitive with major research centers in Europe.The position has been opened within the project  "GRINS GROWING RESILIENT, INCLUSIVE ANDSUSTAINABLE", CUP Number: C83C22000890001.The project promotes female and youth employment and the reduction of territorial gaps according to art.  47 "promotion of generational and gender equal opportunities for the awarding of public contracts for the implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR)", of the Italian Law Decree no. 77/2021 converted into law no. 108 of 29 July 2021.Belonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition.Some fiscal benefits could be applied for repatriated workers or foreign researchers/professors, having the requirements defined by Dlgs 147/2015 (for repatriates) or Dl 78/2010 (for foreigners).CMCC is an equal-opportunity employer.
