WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Our Institute for Climate Resilience (ICR) is looking for a new position of Post-Doc Researcher, located in Sassari, responsible for supporting the development of a regional configuration for the land surface and vegetation model used at CMCC, namely Community Land Model (CLM), to exploit the capabilities of our tool in estimating biogeochemical cycles at very high resolution. Workplace location: Sassari ROLE The Post-Doc Researcher is responsible for support ongoing research for the National Biodiversity Center RESPOSABILITIES The Post-Doc Researcher is responsible of:Supporting to the team in:Developping a regional configuration for the land surface and vegetation model CLM;Achieving project results. REQUIREMENTSPh.D. physics, environmental sciences or equivalent degrees;Good knowledge of programming languages, especially Fortran;Knowledge of land surface biogeochemical representation in land surface models;Experience in working with large amount of climate data;Accuracy and good analytical skills;Fluency in English. DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITSBased on the duration of the employment contract, without prejudice to any changes in organisation and/or career paths and downstream of the performance appraisal. The appointment is assigned following: internal selection; external selection in the event that there are no internal candidates, or they are assessed as unsuitable. The appointment period will be initially of n° 12 months starting from May 2024, renewable for n°12 months additional pending a positive evaluation. Tenure can be granted from 2 to 4 years after being appointed as a junior researcher;The gross annual salary range is from 25 to 29K Euros, depending on qualification and working experience;Welfare package (for min 12 months contract);Flexible working time;Support during the immigration process, if needed.
