The Dexia Group, a former banking group under orderly resolution since 2012, with its main establishments in Brussels and Paris and branches in Ireland, the United States and Rome, is looking for a junior legal specialist for its Rome branch.
The junior legal specialist will be tasked with managing transactions and relationships with Italian public-sector institutions, including related disputes.
This post is for a collaboration contract.
Payment will be commensurate with the past relevant experience that the candidate brings to the position.
Responsibilities: The junior legal specialist will: Support the legal representative in managing complex disputes involving the Italian and UK judicial authorities, in particular in relation to financing and swap transactions with Italian public-sector institutions; Manage relationships with lawyers outside the Dexia Group; Assess the legal impacts of the activities linked to the transactions within the branch's remit; Provide internal reporting of disputes; Prepare supporting documentation for the branch's decision-making bodies and central bodies relating to matters within the branch's remit; Help to ensure that all legal acts connected with the branch's activities are correct in both substance and form and are lawful, valid and effective.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Laws; preference will be given to candidates who have passed a bar examination; Two to three years of professional experience, preferably gained at a professional law practice or in a multinational company in a similar role; Sound knowledge of administrative, civil and procedural law; Excellent speaking and writing skills in English (knowledge of French is a plus); Working knowledge of commonly used software suites.
Strong analytical skills, clarity of thought and expression, strong negotiation and relationship management skills, a keen customer focus, strong problem-solving abilities and an ability to work in a team are also appreciated.
