We are looking for a motivated Software Engineer to expand a rapidly growing team in Argotec, the Research and Development group. The position will offer the chance to work at inspirational projects, contributing to the development of new technologies in support of next generation space assets.
As a Software Engineer in the R&D Unit, you will support Argotecs' global Software Design teams by working on new technologies and products that are under development. Support includes defining, developing, and testing software for innovative space computing systems, subsystems and advanced testing and simulation facilities.
In this role, you will be able to
Design of on-board software for future space missions and services Development of real-time operating system-based applications Full-stack software development from low-level drivers to application software Testing and integration of software in prototypes Develop support software tools for testing and ground support equipment. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Team player and a "Do what it takes" attitude Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Engineering, or other related STEM discipline (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education) EU Citizenship or EU Permanent Residency Great problem-solving skills Excellent written and oral communications. REQUIRED EXPERIENCES & SKILLS Strong background in any of the following areas:
Embedded systems software programming and/or firmware development Experience developing in C/C++ Real-time operating systems Programming/scripting languages (Python, TCL, AWK, Ruby, etc.) Versioning systems (Git) Device driver development Serial communication standards (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, etc.) Proactive and curious person. Previous experience in the aerospace/space industry. Knowledge of aerospace/space standards (EN9100, ECSS). ADDITIONAL ASSETS Background in the Space or Defense Very good knowledge of the space standards (CCSDS, ECSS, MIL etc.) Extensive knowledge of laboratory instruments Ability to establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPI) SPARC, MicroBlaze, RISC-V, ARM devices and architectures RTEMS, FreeRTOS, Linux-RT, uCOS, Zephyr Operating Systems Unix/Linux OS usage and shell scripting Jira Software project management Scrum project management CI/CD systems (Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub Actions) Aerospace/space projects (industrial and/or academic) ML/AI algorithms development WHY JOIN ARGOTEC?
