Ca' Foscari invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Classical Philology. Ca' Foscari is looking for a researcher of Classical philology capable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world. The researcher will apply the methods of philological research to ancient Greek and Latin texts, particularly in topics and fields requiring simultaneous familiarity with both areas of Classical literature; studies on ancient Greek and Latin theatre, on the Nachleben of Classical culture, on the history of Classical scholarship and on the teaching of Greek and Latin. The researcher will be involved for 90 hours of curricular and supplementary teaching in Bachelor degrees, Master degrees, Ph.D., as well as tutoring. In particular, the researcher will teach in the following courses: - Introduzione alla cultura classica I - Introduzione alla cultura classica I - Introduzione alla lingua greca. The position will be hosted at the Department of Humanities , a center for the development of innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to history, literature, classics, archeology, art and anthropology. In the Department of Humanities, Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellows and ERC awardees work together with the permanent faculty, creating a vibrant academic environment.
